Background: Growing up in the foster care system in Los Angeles County, and despite the challenges, Luci found a place of growth and solace in aquatic sports. Luci's journey in masters water polo and swimming began with a stark realization: there were very few people of color and those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds in these sports.

Navigating this world wasn't easy. It required not only financial resources but also a high tolerance for the inaccessibility that often comes with it. Luci was fortunate to have the means and perseverance to pursue a passion. With 13 years of experience as a lifeguard, swim coach, and instructor, Luci's love for aquatics and desire to make these sports more inclusive have only deepened.

Seeing the gaps and barriers firsthand inspired Luci to create an organization dedicated to providing accessible and equitable opportunities in aquatic sports for people of color and those lacking opportunities due to socioeconomic and community barriers. Through this initiative, Luci hopes to support and uplift individuals from diverse backgrounds, ensuring they too can experience the growth and joy that aquatics have brought into Luci's life.

Bio: Rhetoric and Composition major who ventured where all Liberal Arts majors find themselves at some point: customer service. With 5+ years of experience in both the private and public sectors, I have a track record of exemplary performance because of my technical and professional writing skills, ability to advocate for the customer with a balanced approach, and adeptness for learning new processes and applications quickly.

Bio: Coach Jax brings an array of skills and knowledge to the aquatic department. She is excited to share with AJCC members from her extensive experience in competitive swimming, water polo, open water swimming, surf lifesaving, and instructing junior lifeguards. 
Jax specializes in fine-tuning swim stroke technique.
